Recent Back Issues: #110 (Fall 2001)

Clearing Magazine
Issue 110 - Fall 2001

The fall issue of Clearing features two outstanding articles from veteran environmental educators, a photo-story of a truly exemplary EE program focusing on the Columbia River, short looks at unique programs from around the region, plus the usual collection of resources, reviews and activities from the world of environmental education. Pat Scully, Clearing's Children's Literature Consultant, provides reviews of several new children's picture books on water.

Also of note are a report on the actual usage of EE in the classroom, a story about how businesses are adopting environmentally-friendly practices, and the fourth part of a series on developing a natural resources education program by Jon Yoder and Neal Maine.

The cover art is a watercolor by talented Portland artist René Eisenbart. René also produced the covers of Clearing issues 95 and 96. She works for the Oregonian newspaper, and has illustrated a book on plants by Ketzel Levine entitled "Plant This!".
